A Quirky, Colourful wedding function
When I was approached by the bride to create for her ” a quirky playful “Mehendi” function, one of my first few thoughts was how to make it as exiciting and fresh as the bubbling bride to be herself is!
what started as a challenge turned out to be a fun affair for me and the team.
we decided to have a little bit of fun with our thoughts and let ideas take their natural course.
the common challenges in designing ‘quirky’ functions is how to not let it become ‘too quirky’ as it can end up looking like a craft party instead of an important weddding function.
picking the right colour pallette played an important part, in the same way as ‘selecting’ the few elements which would best represent the playfulnesses of the function.
we began with pin wheels and kites along the passage lntersprred with floral arrangements made out of orange and yellow marigold, shaped like domes on the gold planters. the main area had playful flags in the open air celiing created by strings of these.
The bar area had the perfect image of a bird and the dining area had multicoloured flowers all layed out in a trellis formation.
Colourful cushions, sofas and live folk music- all added the perfect finishing touches to our ‘fun-filled’ Mehendi Decor.
In the end, we got a very happy bride and a ton of compliments and felt very proud to have achived the perfect balance of quirky and elegant!
